Skillful and Diligent FP&A Manager needed for a Japanese Entertainment Company

A Japanese Entertainment Company is looking for an experienced hybrid, full time FP&A Manager for their Brea, CA location. This position is responsible for developing and improving budgeting and operating forecast, analyzing, and monitoring key performance indicators and aiding senior management in decision making.


This position doesn't require the use of Japanese, but it would be a big plus.


The essential duties as an FP&A Manager include the following:


• Prepares budgets and forecasts, variance analyses, long-term planning, risk/opportunity

assessments, and periodic/ad hoc reporting.

• Presents the monthly and quarterly financial reports of various units and departments

• Identifies and researches variances regarding forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses

• Develops and continually improves budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecasts

• Reviews financial reports, presentations, and other management reporting needs

• Partners with Accounting and Finance team during the close process, which includes reviewing

departmental general ledgers, recording transactional activity, preparing revenue and expense.

accruals, and providing P&L and Cash variance explanations to budget and forecasts.

• Identifies areas for revenue opportunities and cost improvements

• Monitors KPIs and identify the cause of any unexpected variances

• Analyzes the trends of key performance indicators (KPIs), especially relating to financial metrics

such as sales, expenses, and profit margin

• Works on corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire organization

• Develops financial models and analyze them to support strategic initiatives

• Supports the management team and Department Leaders with data-driven analysis

• Participates in the execution of changes to procedures, policies, and systems to facilitate expansion,

compliance, and scaling of the business

• Manages and leads FP&A team

• Collaborates Accounting and Finance team for timely and efficient closing, taking preventive actions

to avoid unattended procedures and addressing conflict of interest

• Handles proactively ad-hoc exercises

• Trains the team for skill-up, shares the knowledge, and accumulates the know-how

• Liaises with Japanese HQ

• Reports to Director and CFO on timely basis

 

Please consider the following qualification when applying for this position:

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Education and/or Experience* Mandatory: 5+ years’ experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the retail or hospitality industries,* College degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field, Supervisory or managerial roles* Optional: CPA, Reporting package to parent company
